About Us
From Commuters to "Masters of the Geekyverse!"
Jim and Tes first crossed paths on the Long Island Rail Road, commuting between New York City and Long Island. Tes couldn’t help but notice the fresh stack of comics Jim had in hand, sparking a conversation that would turn into a lifelong friendship.

Meet Jim:
Jim’s journey in the world of comics and pop culture began back in the early '70s. Growing up on both Long Island and the sunny coasts of California, he was surrounded by aviation, thanks to his father, an aerospace engineer. This fostered a deep love for air and spacecraft, and his first (and greatest) love from the geek world: Star Wars. After diving into early video games and tabletop RPGs in the '80s, Jim took a literal dive by enlisting in the Navy, where he served as a search-and-rescue diver. This experience fueled his admiration for heroes like Aquaman and Namor, while also leading him to a career in computer engineering. Most recently, having served as a CTO. Jim’s other passions include flying, recreational diving, and spending quality time with his wife June and their two sports-loving sons, Jack and Grant.

Meet Tes:
Tes, on the other hand, is a child of the '80s, his earliest memories involve him raising a magical rattle above his head and shouting something close to “By the power of Grayskull!”, attempting to emulate his all-time favorite hero, He-Man. He grew up in Queens, spending his days imagining himself a Master of the Universe, Ninja Turtle, or one of his favorite '80s and '90s action heroes. Comic books captured Tes’s attention with the Death of Superman storyline, and soon he was hooked on titles like What If…? and Spider-Man 2099. Later, Tes’s love for sports led him to excel in high school and collegiate basketball. At college, he followed a practical path into finance and accounting, eventually working for a New York hedge fund in corporate accounting and operations for 15 years. Tes still plays basketball weekly, indulges his passion for movies and TV, and considers himself an amateur pizza critic. He also enjoys time with his wife Stephanie, playing video games with his daughter Noelle and coaching her basketball team, as well as chasing after his younger daughter, Peyton.
